Here's why: In their study, researchers found that overweight people who consumed a daily ground green coffee bean supplement lost more weight than research subjects who ate the same amount of calories but did not take the green coffee bean supplements.
The study was small, and the researchers did receive funding from a company that is looking into the antioxidant and health properties of green coffee beans, so definitely more research is needed before we get all excited about unroasted coffee beans.
